This one is for the foodies and the cooks who are looking to add some local flavour to their time in Cape Town. It’s also not just about the food, you’ll learn about the lives and culture of the Cape Malay people, and the history behind their favourite meals.
The classes happen in the wonderfully colourful Bo Kaap area so it’s a really short walk from The Backpack. You’ll get to explore the area, meet the people, and cook up a storm.
Cape Malay food is spicy and hearty and the recipes can be traced all the way back to the 17th century slaves who were brought to Cape Town.
