You can rest assured that by choosing to stay with us, you are making a difference as well.

  • The majority of our cleaning products are bio-degradable and septic tank safe; and the company collects and reuses their containers
  • Vegetable waste from the kitchen is used to feed our worm farms
  • Table scraps go into the bokashi and taken to the Woodstock Peace Garden
  • The compost and worm tea from the worm farm is used in our garden
  • Throughout the building you will find colour-coded recycling bins, we have a separate company that collects our recyclable materials
  • The garden at the entrance is waterwise
  • We support local artists by selling their arts and crafts in our community shop
  • We make use of solar hot water geysers and heat pumps; and water-wise shower heads
  • Where possible we use LED light bulbs
  • We have battery containers on the premises and recycle batteries at a local store
  • Our old computer hardware is donated to a computer company, who rebuilds this into computers which are donated to disadvantaged schools
  • Printer cartridges are recycled at a primary school in the area
  • The napkins and take-away containers in the Cafe are all compostable and / or bio-degradable
  • Our juice supplier has been chosen due to the company collecting and reusing their containers
  • Tap water is available to our guests in reusable glass bottles; we do not stock plastic water bottles
  • Discarded beer bottle tops are saved and donated to a local artist who turns these into fridge magnets and other crafts, creating sustainable employment for himself
  • Monthly Recycling

Our recycling company, Recycle1St, monitors our monthly recycling and sends us a breakdown of what we have recycled.
