The day includes wine and cheese tasting, chocolate shopping as well as a delicious à la carte lunch.

Township community tour

Posted by on: 12/12/2012

Take a journey through the apartheid history of South Africa and visit some of Cape Town’s vibrant township communities. Witness the township residents’ struggles against apartheid and their attempts to uplift themselves through the establishment of informal trading and community centres.

Your tour takes you into the townships of Cape Town, where you will get to interact with residents, visit a thriving community project and drink homemade beer in a shebeen. Make this full day tour with a trip to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela and other famous ANC members were imprisoned.

Get up close and personal with this spectacular creature! Reaching lengths of more than 6m and weighing up to 2,250 kg, the great white shark is arguably the world’s largest known predatory fish. It is the only surviving species of its genus Carcharodon.

This exhilarating day out on the ocean allows you to get as close as you ever will to these great animals, from the safety of a cage! Learn from the experienced and specialised crew on board and come away with an indepth knowledge of the Great white Shark biology and conservation projects in the area of Gansbaai. This tour operator is accredited by Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa for the community development and environmental programs which include the many penguin homes they have built.

Just a couple of hours from Cape Town, in the beautiful fruit growing region of Ceres, is this private game reserve, measuring 10 000 hectares and malaria free. It is home to many animals such as lion, cheetah, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, bontebok, springbok and other antelope large and small, along with soaring eagles and numerous species of birds.

The drive there is spectacular and takes you through mountain passes and the unique terrain of the Karoo. Included is return transport, a welcome drink on arrival, lunch and a 2 hour game drive in an open 4×4.
